Find Your Face Shape

Use our free AI face-shape detector to discover whether you have a round, oval, square, heart, or rectangle face — and get personalized frame recommendations in seconds. No sign-up, no upload: detection runs entirely in your browser.

How it works

  1. Allow camera access. Tap "Start" to enable your camera. Your photo never leaves your device — face detection runs entirely in your browser.
  2. Frame your face. Hold your phone or face the webcam so your full face fits inside the on-screen guide. Pull hair back from your forehead.
  3. Hold still for the scan. Stay still for a second while the AI maps key facial landmarks — forehead, cheekbones, and jaw width.
  4. Read your result. See your face shape (round, oval, square, heart, or rectangle) along with a confidence score.
  5. Shop recommended frames. Tap "See recommended frames" to view the curated list of styles that flatter your face shape.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the AI face-shape detection?
The detector uses 468 facial landmarks via Google MediaPipe to classify your face shape into one of five categories: round, oval, square, heart, or rectangle. It works best with even lighting, a neutral expression, and hair pulled back from your forehead.
Is my photo stored or sent to a server?
No. Face detection runs entirely in your browser using on-device machine learning. No image data is uploaded, stored, or shared with rimloo or any third party.
What are the five face shapes?
Round (cheek width ≈ face length, soft curves), Oval (face length > cheek width, balanced), Square (strong jaw, equal width and length), Heart (wider forehead tapering to a narrow chin), and Rectangle (longer than wide, with straight sides).
Which frames suit my face shape?
Round faces look best in angular shapes (rectangle, square, cat-eye). Oval faces suit nearly any frame. Square faces are balanced by round or oval frames. Heart faces work with frames wider at the bottom (aviator, rimless). Rectangle faces benefit from frames with depth and curves.
Can I use this on a mobile phone?
Yes. The detector works on any modern phone or laptop with a front-facing camera. On mobile, hold the phone at eye level and use the rear or front camera — whichever frames your face better.
What if the result feels wrong?
Face shape is a spectrum, not a strict classification — many people have features of two shapes. Take the result as a recommendation, not a verdict. Browse the suggested frames and try the ones you like in the virtual try-on.
